About

Made in Charlotte for people who sell real things

Larina is made by Danabak, a digital agency in Charlotte, North Carolina. We have built and run online stores for rug galleries and dealers for years, and Larina is the photo studio those stores kept asking us for.

About

The site was never the problem

We would build a shop a dealer was proud of, and two weeks later the catalogue would be half empty. Not because the products were not there, but because photographing them was a job nobody had time for and nobody could afford to outsource.

A rug dealer with two hundred pieces in a warehouse cannot book a photographer two hundred times. So the good rugs stay in the back and the phone photos go online.

What we believe

Four rules we build against

01

The product is not negotiable

Change the room, the floor, the light, the props. Never the piece. A photo that improves the product is a return waiting to happen, and it costs the seller their reputation, not ours.

02

Finished, not almost finished

A folder of images is not the job. The job ends when the product page is live with the right photos in the right order and a description under them.

03

Priced per photo, never per seat

Plans are counted in photos. Unused credits roll over, a photo that fails our check is not charged, and the first photo is free without an account.

04

Made for the awkward categories

Rugs, jewelry and decor are the three hardest things to photograph and the three most photo-dependent things to sell. That is deliberate.

The results on this site were made by Larina; the source photos beside them are real photographs.

Including the rug in the hero, the ring on the hand and the vase on the shelf. If the output was not good enough to sell the product itself, it would not be good enough to sell yours.

Who is behind it

The people and the place

Iman Baktash, founder of Danabak
Founder

Iman Baktash

Iman founded Danabak in Charlotte and has spent more than eight years in the rug and carpet trade. He also founded RugIndustry, where he writes about rug history and the market, and he is building All Oriental Rugs, a marketplace for the U.S. rug trade.

Of Persian heritage, he draws on a lifetime of understanding of weaving traditions. It is why Larina is strict about one thing: the rug in the picture is the rug you sell.

Where it runs
Larina is a hosted web app. Nothing to install, nothing to update, and no GPU to buy.
Where it is going
More categories, more scene control, and publishing to more platforms than WooCommerce. Tell us what you sell and it shapes the order.
